what's the best way to check for exhaust leaks? i can't figure out where mine is coming from. it sounds like it's coming from the back of the intake area. i can't feel any air but i can hear it.

now, i found a dent on my flexpipe. could it be coming from there? if so, how can i fix it? get a new flexpipe and reweld? or can i wrap it with header wrap? or weld it or something?

to find exhaust leaks, best way is using a hoist or jackstands and 2 people. 1 person with a welding glove or rags or something to cover the muffler outlet (push as hard as you can to stop the exhaust from exiting the muffler), second person goes along underneath the car feeling and listening around the pipes where it sounds like its leaking or they feel a breeze.

a dent on your flexpipe is unlikely the source of your problem but if it is you can probably re weld it from the inside (not the ss braided crap on the outside). but that depends on your exhaust setup and diameter and where the leak actually is, it may be easier just to get a new flex pipe if that is the problem.

Check to make sure all your bolts are on tight where the manifold/headers are, wastegate, ect. If you are using a gasket where the WG is, ditch it, they blow out in a day anyway. No gasket needed for the DP to turbine either. Best way is to just listen. There was something with water and bubbling up.. i forget.

water bubbling up? you're talking about snoop. and no, that's not the best way to find a leak on exhaust.
