dude if you're car is an ex it has a 1.6l d16y8 sohc vtec engine. I suggest you learn a lot more about cars and this subject in general before asking again... Just read read read. Specifically the FAQ thread and search for anything else...

Welcome.
I had a 1996 Civic with the D16Y8 SOHC and had a GReddy turbo kit (TD-04 turbo) and an old school Apex-I Super AFC and it worked well.
I would look to GReddy for a full kit if you are not comfortable with sourcing all the parts yourself. You will pay more for a complete kit but you are paying for convenience. I don't know how much the kits go for these days.
My friend had a Jackson Racing Supercharger on his D16Y8 and it was SLOW. I would not recommend going the supercharger route with a single cam engine.
I would go with a Hondata S200 for engine management, but you could get away with what is already supplied with a complete turbo kit.

well if that's what happened you got fucked over. and i highly doubt he blew the d16y8 motor. the thing is basically bullet proof unless u don't change the oil and don't take care of it. and no you don't know what you're talking about because you're coming here for help on boost when know you jack shit. so sorry noob, the answer remains the same, learn more about cars first. also post a picture of your engine bay for shits and giggles.

i believe it's lower. Somewhere around 4800 to 5000 due to the lower redline at about 6800-7200 (i hit the rev limiter at 6800 on my y7 motor and that's measured using an autometer tach, not the pos oem tach which can be about 200+ rpm off). the sohc vtec isn't as noticeable but it gives you about 22 more hp over a non-vtec model.

and join the thousands of others who've done the exact same thing before you. I say do a sohc custom turbo kit and put out about 250hp on the stock block instead of swapping.
