Car is still within the breakin period.....560 some odd miles.

Car runs strong, and this isn't a regular occurance, but worries me.

If I am on the throttle, say more than 75%, and then I let off, coming up to a stop, I will get a little puff of smoke, seems like oil.

This may happen one time a day ?

While I am on the throttle, it looks perfect, only when I lift and slow down from a pull.

Did a compression test, the #'s were all withing spec......

Any ideas?

Thanks....

I thought the same thing.....

But it seems like it could possibly be oil.....

Just thought it was odd that it may only do it during high load sitations, but not all the time...

B/c during the pull it is perfect, no smoke whatsoever......

Then after I let off, maybe a 2-3 sec puff....

Then perfect again....??

Maybe valveseals, cause thats what mine is doing. I first noticed something similar after a month after i put the ITR head on. Then it started getting worse. I pulled th plugs and found oil on the threads on #2 and #4 plugs, so the oil was going from the head. Plugs werent fouled really, probably cause the Fuel is dialuting the oil and it just burns away. Maybe its worth the check if you think its oil. You said your still runs strong mines the same way, oils just leaking into the cylinders at the valves burning once combustion hits.

I don't know.

Car just hit 80k miles. So who knows.....

Leak down would show valve seals right?

I had one down when the motor was fresh, first tune, and it should 42 lbs with 50lbs in.....on all 4 cylinders....

Its running rich with my timing retarded for safety......

It didn't seem like it was black smoke though, pulled the plugs and they look kosher.....I will hang in there and see what happens I guess....

Run or go boom...one of the two.....

I think it has to do with the valve seals as well.

If it's that I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Yea my thoughts as well.

I did hook up a catch can on the pcv system which has already trapped a little bit of oil, haven't noticed anymore smoke, I will keep my eyes peeled....
