Ok. Evryone knows b18a/b are dirt cheap (for a block). They also are known for not having r/s ideal for high revving. (This is in a recent post!)
My question: Can you use a b16 crank in a b18a1/b block? What rods would be needed? This would be ideal, at least for my pockets.
I'd have a larger diplacement, better r/s, and the good flowing b16 head.....I am guessing it doesn't work or i would have seen something about it somewhere?

You can easily run a B18 to 9k with forged pistons/rods and upgraded valve springs/retainers. Of course, you'd want to toss the stock intake manifold in the garbage at that RPM but it will take it just fine. Now 9500+ is another story.... Look at the B18C5, you can spin those to 9k easy.

Why in the world would you want to. Just use or find a b16 block. The b18a/b block doesn't give it it's displacement, it's the crank and rods. 77*81 vs 89*81. The deck height is different between the two motors also. that doesnt' even sound logical
